Lake Eugenia is an hour and half away from Toronto and a short distance from Flesherton. Due to its proximity to Toronto, Owen Sound and Collingwood, Lake Eugenia is a sought after location.

The area around Lake Eugenia is known for its picturesque views in all seasons and is very popular with naturalists as it has the Bruce Trail which runs through the village offering a large network of trails and nature preserves. The falls are also noted in many books, magazines and entertainment programs because of their beauty along the Niagara Escarpment.

As of 2010, most habitable cottages around the lake have been sold and developed creating high real-estate prices, which continue to rise. It is estimated that there are approximately 400 beach front cottages similar to large modern homes in the area.

Recreational boating, fishing and swimming are quite common on Lake Eugenia. Common watercrafts include speed boats, fishing boats, kayaks, canoes, wind surfing boards, pontoon and row boats. Idea fishing included the main species of Largemouth Bass, Rock Bass, Perch, Sunfish and Brown Bullhead cat fish.

Modern Life created a boom that started in the 1950s when locals began to take advantage of the lake. This lake was man-made in the 1900s offered two unique features. One is the storage that acts as a reservoir for a hydro-electric dam which operates to this day. The second is, Beaver River provides a steady flow of water and it is also along this river where Eugenia Falls can be found. This very great fall at Eugenia makes it possible for production of Hydro with such as small flow of water.

The village of Eugenia now has several prosperous businesses and other full time stops to include two general stores, restaurant, furniture maker, United Church, public park with baseball diamond where families gather on warm summer evenings and watch children play throughout the season and Bed and Breakfasts for the overnighters.
